I was born in Peterston and was lucky to have grown up here and then to see my own children grow and flourish in this remarkable community .
My family have lived in Peterston and Pendoylan for over 200 years
My Great Grandfather Thomas Devonald was School Master in Pendoylan for 38 Years.
My Great Grandfather Rhys Morgan was a Parish Councillor in Pendoylan.
They both served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Pendoylan and District Sheep Shearing Society - high office indeed in 1900. Between them five sons went off to fight in the 1914-18 War - and returned safely home.In the 1940's and 50's my late mother was a Girl Guide Leader in Pendoylan and Peterston. At the time of his death in 1965 my father was treasurer of St Peter's Church and the Village Hall.
I was first elected as Parohial Church Councillor for St Peter’s Church when I was 19 years old and then as a Community Councillor at the age of 23. I have served four terms of office as a Community Councillor in Peterston and I am currently a member of St Peter’s Church Committe and a Trustee of the Peterston Church and Community Hall.
I always get involved in Community events in Peterston and have been regular on the Village Hall stage for almost forty years.
I was the producer of JoeFest Celebration in 2012 marking the Queen’s diamond jubilee and I am supporting this years plans for the Platinum Jubilee.
I brought Fawlty Towers to the Village Hall stage and, with my good friend Geoff Hurley, produced the Fork ‘Andles comedy event which saw over 50 villagers on stage raising substantial sums for local and national charities
I am a Solicitor and Mediator and have practised locally since 1984.
I have been married to Clare for 26 years and have two children - Isobel, 22 and Hugo , 17
